In the morning of October 9, 2025, Huayhoy Secondary School held a celebration to mark Lao National Teacher’s Day 2025 at the school field. The event was held to honor the dedication and contributions of teachers to the education and development of students in the community.
The celebration was co-presided over by Mr. Maipun Sylakham, Deputy Village Chief of Huayhoy Village, and Mr. Lee Briaxay, Deputy Head of the Viengthong District Education and Sports Office. The event was warmly attended by teachers, students, and parents’ of student, who participated with great enthusiasm.
Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC), representing by Mr. Bounpheng Duangmala, Social Section Manager, and the NT1PC team, also attended in the event and provided meaningful support to the school, its teachers, and students. The company’s contribution included:
- 5,000,000 LAK to support the school in organizing the Teacher’s Day celebration
- 16,500,000 LAK in total to support 11 teachers (1,500,000 LAK each) who undertook summer training courses (June–August 2025) to improve their teaching skills
- 11,800,000 LAK in academic achievement awards presented to 53 outstanding students who ranked in the top 3 of their class, from Primary Year 1 to Secondary Year 7 in the 2024–2025 academic year.
- First place: 300,000 LAK
- Second place: 200,000 LAK
- Third place: 150,000 LAK
