NTIPC Quality, Environmental and Social Policy Statement

The Nam Theun 1 Power Company is committed to be the national and regional leading green energy Company by adhering to applicable national and international Social and Environmental standards. The NTIPC is operated with transparent and participatory approach towards preventing, managing and mitigating adverse impacts that might affect environment and local community. We strongly strive to become a leader in creating significant contribution to the National Social Economic Development of the Lao PDR. In doing so, we are committed to:

Our Environmental Management System Commitment

  • Protect the Lao PDR’s precious natural resources by eliminating and / or minimizing adverse impacts resulting from the operation of the Project;
  • Protect the natural resources of the Lao PDR by adhering to the Project’s EMS commitments;
  • Eliminate / mitigate adverse impacts to the environment by the implementation of our existing EMS thematic plans and programs;
  • Operate the Project under the International Finance Cooperation’s general Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines, other industrial best practice standards, and other applicable requirements and practices to ensure that the environment, the well-being of the Project’s personnel and the Project’s property are well protected; and
  • Ensure the good practices are implemented in accordance with the fulfillment of the EMS that we are committed to through the Top Management Review Program by ISO 14001:2015 requirements and guidelines with continual improvement of the EMS performance.

Our Social-Economic Commitment

  • Fully comply with the Concession Agreement’s obligations, national and international regulations and standards;
  • Operate our business in socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner by creating positive outcomes to the community in which we operate;
  • Ensure the effectiveness of our Livelihood Restoration Program and Resettlement Management Plan with positive and measurable outcomes; and
  • Fully promote stakeholder and community engagement, local ownership and sustainability.

Our Quality Management System Commitment

  • Ensure the highest quality of our product and service by continual improvement through the Quality Management System (QMS) that we’re committed to through Top Management Review Program in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirement and guidelines;
  • Commit to ensure that the applicable requirements and relevant good practice related to quality are taking accountability applicable and fulfilled into the NT1PC’s management systems; and
  • Commit to meet our client’s expectation by enchanting client’s satisfaction is our priority.
