Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC), in collaboration with the Viengthong District Working Group, the Viengthong District Labor and Social Welfare Office, and local authorities from Huayhoy and Meuangmuan villages, conducted its annual assessment of vulnerable households in these two project-targeted areas.
According to the 2025 assessment results, three families were identified as vulnerable. Two of these families are in Huayhoy Village: Mr. Tit, who lives alone, and the Sorlao family, which includes a child with disabilities and a mute mother. The third family is that of Ms. Faiy from Meuangmuan Village, a woman with disabilities who also lives alone.
On October 9, 2025, NT1PC provided essential household items to support these families. The donated goods included mats, blankets, rice, canned fish, eggs, and drinking water, with a total value of 11,082,000 LAK.
The distribution event was attended by project coordinators from Viengthong District, a representative from the District Labor and Social Welfare Office, the village chiefs of Huayhoy and Meuangmuan, as well as relatives of the recipient families.
This initiative highlights NT1PC’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the communities within its project areas. By working closely with government agencies and local authorities, NT1PC ensures that aid reaches those who need it most. The company remains dedicated to sustainable community development and to improving the quality of life for disadvantaged families in the years to come.
