In celebration of the upcoming National Fish Release Day on July 13, 2025, Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC) has supported the release of 20,000 fingerlings in collaboration with the Pakkading District Agriculture and Forestry Office in Bolikhamxay Province. These fingerlings were released into the natural river system to help replenish aquatic life.
The fingerling release event took place on July 9 at the Jao Tong Shrine Fish Sanctuary, located near the Nam Kading Bridge in Pakkading District. The event saw participation from a wide range of stakeholders, including the District Governor, Vice Governor, representatives from various Pakkading District offices, the Bolikhamxay Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department, NT1PC, village authorities, the Lao Women’s Union, and local residents of Pakkading Nuea Village.
This meaningful initiative aims to raise awareness about the conservation and restoration of aquatic resources in natural water bodies, contributing to environmental sustainability and improving food security for local communities.
If you’re passing by the Nam Kading Bridge, don’t forget to stop at the Jao Tong Shrine—pray for a safe journey and make merit by feeding the river fish!
