On the morning of September 2, 2025, Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC) provided school supplies to two students from a vulnerable family in Huayhoy Village, Viengthong District, Bolikhamxay Province.
The event was attended by two project coordinators from the district, a representative from the District Labor and Social Welfare Office, the Deputy Head of Huayhoy Primary School, the Deputy Village Chief of Huayhoy, staff from NT1PC’s Social Section, and the children’s parents.
According to NT1PC’s assessment based on poverty standards in Huayhoy Village, the two students supported are from a family in vulnerable circumstances. The older child is currently in Grade 5, and the younger is in Grade 1 at Huayhoy Primary School.
As part of the company’s ongoing community support efforts, and to mark the beginning of the new school term, NT1PC provided them with essential school supplies. The donation included school uniforms, notebooks, pens, pencils, colored pencils, rulers, erasers, and cash assistance, with a total value of 2,762,000 LAK.
NT1PC is proud to support these students in continuing their education and remains committed to promoting education and improving the lives of children in its project areas. It is hoped that this support will encourage the students to stay in school and strive for a brighter future.
