The Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC) opened its doors to a variety of visitors throughout May 2025, hosting two distinct groups for educational site tours at its Pakkading Dam. These visits underscore NT1PC’s commitment to transparency, public engagement, and serving as a valuable learning resource.

On May 2, 2025, NT1PC welcomed a group of intern students from the National University of Laos. These students, who are currently undertaking teaching practice at Pakkading High School in Pakkading District and Thanasy High School in Paksan District, Bolikhamxay Province, were accompanied by officials from the Bolikhamxay Provincial Education and Sport Department, relevant government officers, and their teachers.

Following this, on May 12, 2025, the dam site hosted representatives from the District Federation of Trade Unions, drawing members from all seven districts across Bolikhamxay Province.

Later in the month, on May 17, 2025, university students from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Science, National University of Laos, also had the opportunity to tour the facility.

Each visit was expertly guided by NT1PC’s Site Management team and civil engineers. Guests were taken on a comprehensive tour of the dam crest, providing a firsthand look at the impressive infrastructure. Beyond the physical tour, NT1PC representatives delivered presentations offering an overview of the company’s operations and, crucially, detailed explanations of their robust dam safety methodologies. This aims to instill public confidence in the dam’s safety and security.

NT1PC reiterated its commitment to being accessible for learning and public awareness about its dam operations, emphasizing its intention to foster transparency and provide an invaluable learning environment for all.
